Durham, N.C. – Krash Creative, the Agency with a Heart, took part in helping two triangle area high school students get one step closer to their dream of performing on Broadway!
Joni Falvey, Krash Creative’s Experiential Marketing Manager and former professional musical theatre performer, was honored to represent Krash Creative as a judge for the Sixth Annual Triangle Rising Stars at DPAC. The Triangle Rising Stars Awards is a member of The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), a national program that unites high school musical theater awards programs from across the country under one roof. The two student winners are provided with $1,000 academic scholarships along with an invitation to represent TRS in an all‐expense paid trip to the National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City for one week. The students will train with Broadway actors, directors, and producers, and wrap up the week with a once in a lifetime performance at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.
Joni Falvey was joined on the Judging panel by six other highly respected Theatre, Television and Education professionals, including Mark Falgout of ABC11, Brent Simpson of Theatre In The Park, Jenny Wales of PlayMakers Repertory Company, MC VanGraafeiland of UNC Chapel Hill and Tiffany Malory and Caitlin Taranto, both of DPAC. Joni was “thrilled to be a part of this esteemed judging panel. The young talent in the triangle area is simply awe-inspiring!” Ainsley Seiger of Apex High School, took home Best Actress for her performance in The Addams Family. Best Actor was awarded to Jacob Bush of Green Hope High School, for his performance in Chicago.
Best Ensemble went to Cary High School’s Grease and Best Musical was awarded to Into the Woods at Enloe High School.
